GINSPIRED
GINSPIRED is a podcast where we talk about and celebrate everything about the wonderful juniper-laced spirit called GIN! There is SO much to talk about when it comes to gin – and we are going to dive into all of it in future episodes. I’ll be speaking to guests from around the world including gin and mixer experts, distilleries, gin fans, and bartenders. In every episode, my guests and I will be sharing what we're drinking as well as fun GINcident stories. I hope you will join me on this GINspired journey.
GINSPIRED
The Odd Society of Gin, with special guests Gordon & Mia Glanz
On today’s episode, I welcome Gordon Glanz, Founder and Head Distiller of Odd Society Spirits, and Mia Glanz, bar manager of the Odd Society Cocktail Lounge both located in East Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Today, we chat about how it all started, the story behind their name, their philosophy on product development, some fun facts, and of course their gins, and so much more.
About Odd Society Spirits
Located on Powell Street in East Vancouver’s port district, Odd Society is dedicated to combining Old World distilling traditions with New World ingredients and ingenuity to create a family of spirits including whiskey, vodka and gin.
Founder and Distiller Gordon Glanz holds an MSc in brewing and distilling from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland where he experimented with distilling whiskey using raw grains and commercial enzymes. After finishing his MSc, Gordon spent a week at the Whisky School at Springbank distillery in Campbeltown.
Now back in his home town, Gordon is applying his penchant for experimentation and knowledge of tradition within the Odd Society, which he operates alongside his wife, Miriam Karp.
